Mindfulness-Based Therapies
Mindfulness is the process of being aware of the present moment. Clients are encouraged to accept each and every moment - without judgment and attachment to the moment. Throughout many millennia, mindfulness has been practiced throughout many different philosophies. Over the last several decades, western researchers have embraced mindfulness. Mindfulness and mindfulness-based interventions have been found to effectively treat: anxiety, depression, chronic pain, sleeplessness, and increase quality of life. Additionally, mindfulness can assist clients in dealing with the difficult emotions, thoughts, and experiences we all encounter. Developing and incorporating mindfulness practices can increase personal effectiveness and empowerment in clients as they learn to manage many different difficulties with a sense of innate power and control.
